5 things about Steve Harless  that people probably didn't already know about me.

1. I was a navy musician and played trumpet in the 7th Fleet band from 1982-1985

2.I was stationed in Yokosuka Japan, and studied the Japanese language and written characters - Hiragana, and Katagana, and Kanji.

3.I was lucky enough to live in Hawaii after the my service days from 1985- 1992. ( bartended, surfed, AND PARTIED UP A STORM)

4.My general love for the majority of my life besides real estate was fine art. I was a fine art dealer in Hawaii, Chicago, Las Vegas. Dealing from everything from Picasso to Christian Lassen.

This information came Tuesday from the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in their monthly New Residential Construction report.

Here is hoping we start off 2008 with a bang...I'm hoping the worse is behind us already. I would like to see every realtor do well next year.

Disclaimer: No person has a crystal ball to predict how and when the Las Vegas Housing Market will bottomed out and rise again. The general public should be forewarned that these are my personal feelings and that there still is freedom of speech in the great USA.

That being said, after the last several weeks of talking to mortgage professionals, title company employees & reps, bankers and more knowledgeable professionals that I have dealt with in the past, I have come to the conclusion that August to September of 2008 we should see great progress in the Las Vegas Housing market.

Some may ask,"Why do you ask do you feel this way Steve?" Well, These same people I mentioned earlier are the exact ones that mentioned to me about 2 years ago that someday you will be able to pick up homes for a song and a dance.... the market was headed for a  negative direction that it will be due to the economy and with the problems the ARM's. (adjustable mortgages)

Just my two cents.... How about you? When do you feel the market will bounce back?

Be careful with people or corporations offering to "help" you out of your difficult financial situation. A knight in shining armour most of the time simply does not exist. Read this article from the better business bureau.

You will find these scammers using telephone pole advertising, online advertising, signs stuck in the ground near busy traffic intersections. Hope this helps all.  Steve
