What Is All The Controversy About??? It's Only A Website Banner!!!

Dear Viewers,  3 days ago I put up a banner with the name of my real estate website http://www.viewlasvegasrealestate.com/ and all of the sudden the emails started rolling in like THUNDER! It seems I struck a nerve that I did not intend to do. Some people are shocked and offended. maybe its just me, having worked in the fine art industry over twenty years, I thought it very artistic for a city like Vegas.

some of the comments from viewers are below:

"How could you put a partial nude women on a Real Estate Website?"

"It does'nt fit the protocol for a real estate website. You should really take it off." (pardon the pun)

"Why put this up on your site? no one else is doing it!"

"Why don't you just put up pictures of homes or condos of vegas?"

fellow agents: I will let you decide...tell me what you think!

In my opinion the banner is fine because I didn't really even see the problem.  Once I noticed what the problem was, I looked closely and could not tell if the girl is clothed or not.  Since you live in Las Vegas and you are a real estate professional in Las Vegas, I say you do as you wish.

I would have thought they were tight jeans.  The picture is pretty blurry on my monitor.  And the "scandal" could drive some traffic to your site...

Well, I don't really think it's artistic, but it does look like most other promotions of Las Vegas that I've seen, so I'm not quite sure what the big deal is.  The "no one else is doing it" objection - um, is everyone supposed to be doing exactly the same thing, then?  Not hardly!  As for the semi-nude woman, I'd have to REALLY be looking hard to see anything, it pretty much leaves it up to the imagination of the viewer.

I'd say that you've defined a target market and are marketing to them, and that target market doesn't include people who are going to be put off by something this (sorry) "traditional" in marketing Las Vegas.

I absolutely agree with Hooshyar, Maureen and Tricia!  Keep it up!  Tell whoever that doesn't like it that the lady is fully clothed and if they still give you *&%$, then just start to ignore them.  Stay positive and keep doing what you are doing.  As a big Marketing guy, I love the banner and I think its great.  Keep doing what you are doing.

Who made these comments? Potential clients? If it was, what was the percentage that didn't like it compared to the total amount of people who visit your site daily?

Oh, I just had an idea! How about if you put a poll on your site asking people how they feel about it. After they vote they can see the results to date immediately.

This is just an idea to keep people there a minute longer, and, most importantly, to keep you in their minds a minute longer.

I will agree with everyone else.... I didn't really see a problem. I was expecting a full shot of a naked woman, just like those sex sites. Not that I really know what they look like.... lol

But seriously, it's Vegas... and I think it fits in....

Saint Paul Skyline, photo by Jay MertonMedford & I use a picturesque panorama shot of our hometown as a way of promoting our historic little city in flyoverland. Our friend “Realtor®” Teresa uses a similar photo on her St. Paul Real Estate Blog for just the same reason. We find nothing objectionable with your banner.

I still think this is one of my favorite blogs of the week or month.  I can't believe we are all visiting your website and playing "detective", this is just great.

You are fine. Lets face it. It is VEGAS - what happens there stays there. That is the flavor of VEGAS. Some people should chill. If you see my husband on your site tell me though.
