Gasoline May Soon Cost a Sawbuck
Get ready for another economic shock of major proportions - a virtual doubling of prices at the gas pump to as much as $10 a gallon.
That's the message from a couple of analytical energy industry trackers, both of whom, based on the surging oil prices, see considerably more pain at the pump than most drivers realize.
Gasoline nationally is in an accelerated upswing, having jumped to $3.58 a gallon from $3.50 in just the past week. In some parts of the country, including New York City and the West Coast, gas is already sporting a price tag above $4 a gallon. There was a pray-in at a Chevron station in San Francisco on Friday led by a minister asking God for cheaper gas, and an Arco gas station in San Mateo, Calif., has already raised its price to a sky-high $4.62.

This just in: record profits - 14 Billion in just 3 months

Chut your mouth! Figuratively... Wonder how much a good horse runs these days?
May be a new thought in my action plan or maybe a new item on my wish list...
Carla: come to vegas....there are jobs, there is definately a great future....I will help you if you come here.
Steve
First I heard $4.50, then $5, and now $10! It's ridiculous! I recently read somewhere that if we completely stop buying gas at the big gas stations like Exxon and Mobile, they would be forced to reduce their prices and others would follow suit. I don't know if it would work, but it's worth a try isn't it?
And like Steve said, I will not go out without seeing a pre-qual letter and will not look at anything priced above what the letter states!
At some point, the rise in gasoline prices will choke off the economy. And yes, this administration is at least partly to blame.
Why is it that Republican elected officials refuse to take responsibility for their ownta mistakes?
I love you sign. Once gas gets to $10 we will all be using some other fuel to get around.
I am building my rickshaw in the garage now... I'll take pictures and share once I get it into service! ;-)
I agree Steve, the system is enough to make you want to hold someone responsible... But only the energy companies, the government and OPEC are the demons here and there is no one holding ANY of these bad boys accountable!
always enjoy your posts.
STEVE - If this is true, I have an illustration of how I plan on showing homes to buyers.....
My other car is a RECUMBENT. : )
I have a colleague who sells BP gas and has been a gas station owner for 30+ years. He defends/deflects the oil companies profits by saying that Microsoft makes billions in profit, and nobody is ripping on THEM. OK. Hmmm. How about BP sponsoring an economic stimulus plan? I drive 60K miles/year in my rural area for real estate ... I should say I USED to drive that many miles. Last year my gasoline bill alone was $10K, and my car is a smaller fuel-efficient (30mpg) car. I look forward to lpg, methane, high tech turbo diesel (as Europe has been using for many years at high fuel costs) and especially electric and alternative fuels. Thanks Steve, esp. for the cute "sign". Back to my bicycle ...
